Bahrain’s Coast Guard Commander Denies Entry of “Smuggled” Items from Iran Through Al-Hidd

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's Coast Guard Commander, Brigadier Alaa Siyadi, highlighted that the coast guard vessels monitor all Bahrain's coastlines, including East of Al-Hidd.

In response to what was published in a number of local newspapers on November 4, 2015 that quoted Member of Parliament Abdurhman Buali and entitled "Most of Smuggled Items Come from Iran Though Al-Hidd", siyadi said that the east of Al-Hidd coastline is part of the maritime ban that was determined by a ministerial order 15 of 2012 and any activities in this zone is monitored and dealt with in accordance to the law by the coast guard and other security authorities.

He said that the coast guard vessels are deployed round the clock in all areas, especially in the northern maritime area, along with security patrols of other security department to tackle illegal activities such as trafficking or infiltration.
