Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's Prisoners and Detainees Rights Commission (PDRC) hosted on 9th and 10th of November a specialized training workshop during which experts from the Queen's Inspectorate of Prisons in the United Kingdom delivered lectures in cooperation with the UK Embassy in the Bahraini capital Manama.

PDRC said that this workshop comes "within a part of an introductory program on major international expertise in the domain of the commission's work held inside Bahrain and visits undertaken by PDRC commissioners to the United Kingdom to hands-on learn the work of specialized prisons, hospitals and psychiatric institutions."

The widespread protests that erupted in Bahrain (February 2011) left dozens of victims and led to many violations of human rights. The United Kingdom made use of this opportunity to sign joint contracts and agreements in several fields, mainly military and arms, human rights and judicial system in Bahrain.
