Bahrain Mirror: Member of the Special Investigation Unit (SIU), Mohammad Khalid Al-Haza', said that Bahrain's First High Criminal Court issued on Monday (December 7, 2015) a sentence, acquitting five suspects from the general security forces of torture charges raised against them.

Two detainees claimed that they were tortured over charges of drug dealing for the purpose of extracting confessions to the crime they were accused of. The SIU had launched an investigation into the incident and concluded it by referring five suspects to the High Criminal Court which has issued its verdict.

The unit is currently studying the grounds of that verdict and if there is a possibility of appealing against it.
