Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): Peaceful protests continued on Saturday (February 20, 2016) across Bahrain, a week after the fifth anniversary of the popular uprising that called for political reform.

Protest events have not stopped since February 12, and even witnessed greater participation since the anniversary of "Bloody Thursday", when the first massacre took place, leaving a number of protestors killed and injured following a sudden attack by security forces during the early morning hours of February 17, 2011.

A wave of marches were held in some areas and villages across the country, including Nuwaidrat, Al-Diah, Al-Shakhoura and Abu Siba', in commemoration of the February martyrs. Also, a series of house raids also hit Nuwaidrat, Al-Diah and Jedhafs, and a number of arrests were made.

At noon, demonstrators performed their prayers on the site of the Al-A'laywat mosque in Al-Zinj area, which was among the 38 Shiite mosques demolished at the hands of Saudi and Bahraini forces during March 2011, and hasn't been rebuilt yet.
