Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain witnessed widespread protests on Friday (February 26, 2016), as Bahrainis took to the streets to express their rejection of Saudi presence in the country, and voice solidarity with political prisoners, who have been facing harsh conditions that led dozens of them to go on hunger strike.

The villages of Diah, Diraz, Abu Saiba', Adhari, Al-Shakhoura, Al-Markh, Al-Malikiya, Al-Maameer, Bilad Al-Qadeem, Tubli, Karana and Al-Nuwaidrat witnessed demonstrations in preparation for the anniversary of the Saudi forces' military intervention in Bahrain. Demonstrators denounced the Saudi presence, holding photos of martyr Mahmoud Abdullah, who was killed by live bullets fired by Saudi forces in an attack on the Qatif area in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province.

For their part, the revolutionary forces announced the events to be held on this occasion under the slogan "Your occupation is under our feet."

Thousands of Saudi troops and armoured vehicles entered Bahrain in March 2011 to help the ruling Al Khalifa family crush the popular protests which called for putting an end to Al Khalifa's monopoly over power.
