Authorities Prevent Three Activists from Leaving Bahrain

Bahrain Mirror: Activists on social media said that the Bahraini authorities prevented three human rights defenders from leaving Bahrain.

Jaleela Al-Salman, the general coordinator in the Bahrain Observatory for Human Rights posted on her own Twitter account on Friday (July 5, 2016) that the authorities prevented lawyer Mohammad Al-Tajer,  President of the Bahraini Transparency Association Sharaf Al-Moussawi and member of Bahrain Human Rights Society Zeinab Khamis from leaving Bahrain.

The official account of Bahrain Human Rights Society stressed that the activist Zainab Khamis was prevented from leaving Bahrain through King Fahd Causeway after she was suspended for one hour approximately.

It is to mention that the authorities prevented yesterday journalist Ahmed Radhi from leaving the country while heading to a Gulf State, without mentioning the reasons.

The Bahraini authorities have lately banned a number of activists and media people from leaving the country and launched the severest crackdown against the opposition and the Shiite majority since March 2011.
