Bahrain King Promotes Interior Ministry Officers Involved in HR Violations

Bahrain Mirror: King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued four Royal Decrees for 2016 on Wednesday (July 13, 2016).

Decree 61 amended some provisions of Decree 69/2004 on re-structuring the Interior Ministry, while issued Decree 62/2016 appointed 2 director generals at the Interior Ministry and 16 directors including Brigadier-General Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa: Deputy Chief of the Public Security, Brigadier-General Abdulrahman Saleh Al-Snan: Assistant Undersecretary of Exits, Investigation and Follow-up, Brigadier-General Ibrahim Hassan: Commandant of the Royal Police Academy and Brigadier-General Shamsan Abdulla Al-Buainain: Assistant Undersecretary for Administrative Affairs.

In addition to Brigadier-General Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa who was appointed as Deputy Chief of the Public Security, Colonel Yussef Hassan Al-Arabi was appointed as Director-General of Reform and Rehabilitation. It is noteworthy that both are among the officers involved in violations practiced against a number of citizens and detainees.
