Bahrain Mirror: The local Al-Wasat newspaper stated in a report published Sunday 17 July, 2016, quoting some locals of Diraz saying that they had to postpone their weddings after non-residents of the area were denied entry. Another local youth indicated that he had to hold his marriage ceremony in the town of Bani Jamra, so that his acquaintances and those of the family would be able to attend the event.

In detail, a young man residing in Diraz said that he was planning to hold his marriage during the ongoing month of July, but the closure of entrances to non-residents of Diraz made him postpone his marriage ceremony to another time, which until now, has not been decided yet.

This is because the family of his wife will not be able to enter Diraz if the marriage was held anytime soon. In addition, the man's friends and acquaintances will not be able to attend as well; therefore, he has no choice but to postpone the marriage until the situation restores to normal. A lot more stories similar to the aforementioned have been occurring at the outskirts of Diraz for the past couple of weeks.

In two days, Diraz would have reached a full month of suffering from the closure of its entries. Security authorities are allowing entry through only 2 ports, and strictly to the people and residents of Diraz, owing the address they provide is proved to be correct.

Shops and trade have become nearly paralyzed for around three weeks, since customers from outside the areas were denied access.

Regarding the use of the internet in Diraz, an obvious deterioration of the connection becomes clear at 7 p.m. until the early hours of dawn the next morning.

It is noted that the Director General of the Northern Governorate's Police Directorate claimed in an earlier statement, that the people of Diraz are not denied entry or exit to and from their town, adding that the current security measures are due to an illegal gathering taking place inside the town.
