Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain decided to raise the price of "super" petrol, developed in the past months, to 235 Fils per liter, after the price was 195 Fils.

The decision came after a meeting for the "Gasoline Prices Review Committee", which decided to adopt for the "gasoline 98 octane super" the price of 235 Fils per liter, as of the beginning of this month, according to the Saudi al-Hayat newspaper.

The Minister of Energy at that time, Abdul Hussein Mirza, said last April that the price of the "super petrol" would be 195 per liter. Bahrain has decided to raise fuel prices last January, which sparked anger among the citizens. Later, the authorities decided to develop a new category for gasoline called "super", in addition to the ones already categorized as "excellent" and "good".

It is noteworthy that the "super 98" gasoline is subjected to the prices of gasoline in the global market. It therefore includes the cost of import, shipping, transport, handling and other costs. Also, the prices are periodically reviewed by the Commission, as this product is put forward in the framework of the meeting local market requirements, which therefore contributed to the support of the sustainable development process.

This is; however, noting that the price of the "98 octane" gasoline fuel is not linked to prices of the "excellent" (95 octane) or the "good" (91 octane) categories of gasoline.

The "Gasoline Prices Review Committee" is a special committee composed of representatives of the National Oil and Gas, and BAPCO company headed by Engineer Jassim Isa Al-Shirawi, Director General for Oil and Gas in the National Committee for Oil and Gas. Also, among the members of the committee are engineer Khalid Ibrahim Buhazza', Marketing Manager at BAPCO, engineer Manijeh Safar, Director of Planning and Economy at BAPCO, engineer Abdul Aziz Abdul Qader Saeed, consultant to oil projects at the national committee for oil and gas.
