Bahrain Mirror: A Bahraini court on Tuesday (August 16, 2016) looked into a new case raised by the Public Prosecution against the head of the dissolved Islamic Ulama (Scholars) Council, the largest Shiite religious institution in the country, Sayed Majeed Al-Mashaal. This is the second case linked to his stance opposing the violations committed by the Bahraini authorities against the Shia citizens.

The Public Prosecution charged Al-Mashaal with "incitement of hatred against the ruling system," after accusing him of assembling and rioting in the first case.

Reports say that Al-Mashaal denied the charges raised against him, and said that he was solely exercising his right to freedom of expression. He further expressed his refusal of the measures taken by the government.

The court adjourned his case until August 24, 2016.
