Royal Decree Restructures Foreign Ministry, Human Rights Portfolio Now Responsibility of Assistant Minister

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued a decree No. (68) for the year 2016, stating the reorganization of the Foreign Ministry.
The first article of the decree stated the following:
The Foreign Ministry is reorganized as follows:
The Foreign Minister as head of the organization, responsible for:
1-  The Diplomatic Institute.
2-  Communication Department.
Assistant Foreign Minister, Secretary of State, responsible for:
1-  Department of Human rights affairs management.
2-  Department of Legal Affairs.
Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry, responsible for:
1-  Management of Events and Conferences
2-  Operations Management.
Assistant Undersecretary for Consular Affairs, Resources and Information, responsible for:
1-  Department of Financial Resources.
2-  Department of Human Resources.
3-  Department of Information Systems.
4-  Department of citizens and residents affairs, and consular services.
Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for International Affairs, responsible for:
1-  Operations Management
Assistant Undersecretary for Afro-Asian and Western Affairs, responsible for:
1-  Department of Afro-Asian Affairs.
2-  Department of European Affairs and the European Union.
3-  Department of the Americas and Pacific Affairs.
Undersecretary of Foreign Ministry for Regional Affairs and the GCC, responsible for:
Assistant Undersecretary for GCC and Arab Countries, responsible for:
1-  Department of GCC Affairs.
2-  Department of Arab Affairs.
The second article stated that the decree No. (49) of the year 2009 is therefore canceled with the reorganization of the Foreign Ministry Structure, and so was decree No. (7) of the year 2015, which linked the Human Rights Affairs department to the Foreign Ministry.
According to the third article of the decree, the Foreign Minister shall implement this decree, and shall enter into force since the date of its announcement in the Official Gazette.
