Protesters Hurl Themselves at Bahrain King’s Car in London

Bahrain Mirror: Protesters in the British capital London threw themselves today Wednesday (October 26, 2016), at a car carrying the King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, outside Downing Street; the residence of British Prime Minister.

According to London-based Daily Mail, "One unnamed man burst through a crowd and appeared to bang on the windows of the limousine carrying King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa." It added that the police managed to grab the suspect before pinning him and putting him in handcuffs. 

It was reported that Bahrain Institute for Rights and Democracy (BIRD) executive manager, Ahmad al-Widaei, was also arrested while protesting against the King's visit to the UK in light of rights organizations accusing him of human rights violations in his country.

King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's visit to Bahrain includes him meeting with Queen Elizabeth and Prime Minister Theresa May. Bahrain news agency (BNA) on its part indicated that during his visit, King Hamad bin Isa will hold talks on bilateral relations between both countries, in addition to the current situation in the region, and latest developments on the regional and international arenas.
