Bahrain Mirror: Iraqi Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Ahmad Jamal, said that his country launched measures towards initiating a lawsuit in British courts against the Saudi London-based "Asharq Al-Awsat Newspaper".

Jamal confirmed through his Twitter account Monday (November 21, 2016), that the Saudi newspaper's encroachment "will not pass without deterrence."

Asharq Al-Awsat Newspaper had fabricated claims that the World Health Organization (WHO) had warned of illegitimate pregnancy risks in the city in Karbala, coinciding the commemoration of Arbaeen Imam Hussein, commemorated by millions of Shiites.

The aforementioned claim led to a wave of outrage by Iraqis and Shiites around the world, who believed it to be an assault against the honor of the Iraqi women. WHO condemned involving it in a fabricated report, and confirmed it will take legal measures in this regard.
