Bahrain Mirror: The second high appeals court presided over by judge Bader Al-Abdalla and membership of judges Wajih Al-Shaer and Omar Al-Saidi and Iman Dismal as a secretariat accepted the objection in form but refused it in content and upheld the appealed verdict that sentenced a Bahraini woman to one year in prison over publically insulting the judiciary authority.

The first-instance court had sentenced the defendant to one year in prison and specified 300 BD as a bail to stop the execution of sentence.

The Public Prosecution accused the suspect of publicly insulting the judiciary authority via social media in the period between 2013 and 2015.

The defendant posted some tweets on her own Twitter account that included insulting expressions to the judiciary, in particular the figures of sharia court. The defendant also created a group on Twitter in which she announced combating the judiciary institution and continued to post these tweets in the period between 2013 and 2015.
