Bahrain Mirror: Airbus group handed on Wednesday the Iranian Airlines Company first plane of the hundred aircrafts order after the nuclear deal with the major powers, which stipulates easing the economic sanctions on Tehran.

The A-321 plane was delivered in the European group site in the French city of Toulouse in the presence of Iran Air Chairman Farhad Parvaresh and CEO of Airbus Tom Enders.

"Today marks a great day for this company as well as the relation between Iran and the European Union," Parvaresh said.

Fabrice Brégier, Airbus COO and President of Commercial Aircraft, said that this delivery highlights "the rise of the Iranian Airlines"

The Iranian company signed in December 22 an order with Airbus Company to purchase 100 planes under a deal that worth about $20 billion.

The order comes after a commitment signed in January 2016 in Paris.

The Iranian company and American Boeing group also signed in December 11 in Tehran the biggest contract since nearly 40 years that provides buying 80 aircrafts to replace the aging Iranian fleet. The contract amounted to $ 16.6 billion.

The Civil Aviation Organization of Islamic Republic of Iran says that Tehran would need between 400 to 500 aircrafts in the next decade.
