Continuous Protests in Bahrain One Week after Execution of 3 Activists

Bahrain Mirror: Protests continued in Bahrain on Sunday (January 22, 2017) condemning the execution crime committed last Sunday against 3 activists.

A protest took to the street in Sanabis, the hometown of Abbas Al-Samie, Sami Mushaima and Ali Al-Singace. Protestors held photos for the martyrs who were executed by squats in the first death penalty carried out since 2011 uprising.

The protest marched the streets of the village and chanted slogans against king Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, noting that no execution is to be carried out without his approval.  Women, men and children took part in the protest.

In Al-Ekr, protestors clashed with regime forces that used shotguns and tear gas against the protestors. Social media outlets said that some protestors received injuries.

The unrests tensions in the country have mounted since the execution of 3 activists. The martyrs' families issued a statement in which they held Bahrain's king responsibility of the crime and called to proceed in demanding the rights that their sons were executed for.
