Bahrain Mirror: Al-Wefaq Deputy Secretary General, Sheikh Hussein al-Daihi addressed a televised speech on the occasion of the February 14 revolution's 6th anniversary, in which he confirmed the need for serious political negotiations under the auspices of the UN, which should result in a popular referendum.

Al-Daihi said that "before the deteriorating political reality in Bahrain, and with the regime's closure of all initiatives for political solution, imprisonment of all political leaderships, and eradicating all freedoms of political action, there is an urgent need for an inclusive democratic political operation. It should be a result of serious political negotiations, and under the auspices of the UN, and subject to popular referendum."

"We want to live like other settled nations live in the world, we want to be decision-makers in our country," he went on to say.

"Because our people were not the decision-makers, prices of food, livelihood, and services increased, and taxes are on their way, lands were looted, seas were stolen, public money disappeared, and the regime accumulated debts, and now the public debts will reach BD 9 billion by the end of this year," Sheikh al-Daihi said.

In addition, Sheikh Hussein al-Daihi said that the regime made state institutions tools of repression, marginalization, and exclusion, which exhausted all the country's wealth, ruined its identity, obliterated its culture, changed its structure, humiliated its people, and sought power in foreigners, whom it prioritized. This caused the state to go bankrupt, become overtaxed, introduce the theft of lands and seas, poverty of traders, and ignorance of its youth.

The Deputy SG added that the awareness of this great people and perseverance to change, and their legendary readiness to provide various sacrifices, and adherence to the leadership of Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim, defeated all crowds against them, and will conquer tyranny.

Concerning the targeting of the supreme spiritual leader of Shiites in Bahrain, Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim, al-Daihi said that Sheikh Qassim represents the national guarantee for the national solution and peaceful movement. He stressed that any harm to him would cause a harm to these guarantees and would exceed what is greater than red lines, which would drag Bahrain to an irreversible turn.

Al-Daihi concluded his statement confirmed the choice of strategic peaceful opposition, and stressed the path of peaceful civil resistance. He believed that these choices would protect the future of national solutions from devastating glides. "The Bahrainis took to the streets and recorded the most marvelous peaceful action against the terrorism and killing machine, which not only mortified the regime, but also its allies."
