Bahrain’s Scholars: Publishing Photos of Arrested Women is “Provocative”, Like adding Fuel to Fire

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's scholars warned the security authorities of publishing photos of arrested women and considered it an "intentional violation of the social norms, traditions and values".

The scholars said in a statement on Wednesday (February 22, 2017) that "the escalation represented in arresting free women over flimsy charges aims at adding fuel to the fire," indicating that "the authorities shall bear the serious consequences of such an act."

The scholars wandered why the authorities did not publish the photo of the murderer of Iman Salehi and the masked people who attacked protestors in Diraz and opened fire at youth Mostafa Hamdan, expressing their condemnation over publishing photos for citizens, including women and a cleric, for only being suspects.

The ministry of interior had published photos for 20 citizens with women and a cleric among them and accused them of forming terrorist cells, which prompted condemnations from the citizens.
