Experimental Phase of One-Stop Crossing on King Fahd Causeway to Start on March 6

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's Ministry of Interior said that the one-stop crossing on the private lane of the King Fahad Causeway that links Bahrain to Saudi Arabia is to be enforced from March 6 as part of a three-month experimental phase.

The ministry said in a statement that this was decided during the coordination meeting held on Thursday (February 23, 2017) at the General Organisation of King Fahad Causeway between officials from both the countries. The one-stop crossing aims to smoothen the traffic of individuals and trucks through the causeway. The meeting was held under the presidency of  Director-General of the General Organisation of King Fahad Causeway Abdulrahman bin Saad Al-Yahya and presence of Assistant Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports & Residence Affairs Ahmed bin Isa Al Khalifa, Director-General of Customs Clearance and Inspection Abdullah Hamad Al-Kubaisi, General Director of Information Technology Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, representing the Bahraini side. However, customs chief Daifallah Al-Otaibi, the causeway's passport manager Marai Al-Qahtani, assistant director general of Jawazat for technological affairs Khaled Bin Hamad Al-Saikhan as well as senior officials from the General Directorate of Passports, National Information Center  and General Authority of Ports Border represented the Saudi part.
