PM: No Scholarships Accepted without Prior Approval from Government

Bahrain Mirror: Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa re-affirmed not to accept scholarships provided by overseas organizations without prior approval from the government.

In the Cabinet meeting held on Monday (April 24, 2017), the PM urged ministries and government departments that are subject to the Civil Service Law to stick to Cabinet resolutions pertaining to scholarships and abide by the resolutions that regulate government institutions, foreign embassies and missions.

He urged public sector employees not to accept scholarships provided by overseas organisations without prior approval from the government, stressing on the need to adhere to the Cabinet resolutions in this regard. He went on to say that the Foreign Ministry had been mandated to decide on scholarship offers relating to education, civil service training and tours offered by foreign embassies and missions to civil service employees, NGOs' affiliates or individuals.
