Trial of Sheikh Ali Salman over Charges of "Communicating with Qatar" Adjourned until Dec. 28

Bahrain Mirror: The High Criminal Court postponed on (Wednesday, November 29, 2017) the second trial session of Opposition leader Sheikh Ali Salman and two Al-Wefaq leaders Sheikh Hassan Sultan and Ali Al-Aswad in which they are accused of "communicating with Qatar" until December 28, for pleading and to inform the other defendants.

The Public Prosecution said that Sheikh Salman attended the second trial session in the presence of 4 lawyers. Sheikh Salman and the other two suspects are being tried over "colluding with the state of Qatar to commit hostile acts against Bahrain and to harm the country's political and economic positions as well as its national interests."

Sheikh Ali Salman's official Twitter account said that the opposition leader denied all the charges brought against him. Meanwhile, the prosecution demanded to keep him in detention pending investigation after he finishes his current prison term that it is expected to end in December 28, 2018.
