Bahrain Mirror: A number of Hajj campaign (group) managers confirmed that the total new taxes imposed on pilgrims amounted to 330 Bahraini dinars.

They explained that the new taxes and fees include the electronic track tax, which is 10%; 5% VAT and 5% as municipal fees, according to the system in force in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, noting that the 10% is equivalent to 80 Bahraini dinars and that it is an obligatory tax imposed on every pilgrim that applied via the electronic track.

Campaign managers further stated that besides the previous fees, there is added value on the Hajj, including food, transportation and housing fees, stressing that these fees are mandatory and will have an impact on the pilgrim, raising the Hajj costs, compared to last year, by approximately 250 dinars.

The managers also stressed that the implementation of the VAT in the Kingdom will increase the prices of housing and hotel services, which means an increase in the prices of Hajj and Umrah programs offered by the campaign offices.
