Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's First High Criminal Court has rejected the objection of a Bahraini citizen sentenced to a year in prison for biting a a policeman during his arrest, deeming it invalid, since he did not attend the the hearings.

Authorities say the accused, 28, bit a policeman who was trying to arrest him in his right hand, on May 2, 2016, but the policeman managed to handle him with the help of other police officers.

The court sentenced him to a one-year prison term, which he challenged by objection, but he was absent from any of the hearings that were scheduled, so the court ruled that it was void.
