Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): The Bahraini Public Prosecution rejected the testimony of Abdulnabi Salman, the former secretary-general of the Progressive Platform Society, in Sheikh Ali Salman's case, and used his testimony to introduce a new charge against the latter.

This came during a hearing on Tuesday, which took place at the request of the Public Prosecution to comment on the testimony of Abdulnabi Salman, which was made at the previous hearing.

The Prosecution's representative said that the the defendant's (Sheikh Ali Salman) use of Abdulnabi Salman is not new, as he resorted to him in a previous case, and the prosecution brought a copy of the latter's defense in the past case.

The prosecution used that testimony in order to introduce new charges against the Sheikh, including the charges of violating the Law of Societies, which it noted prohibits communicating with the foreign entities unless under some restrictions and in coordination with the Ministry of Justice.

For her part, Attorney Jalila al-Sayyed spoke on behalf of the defense team and said she needed a supplementary pleading to comment on the prosecution's statement because it contained new accusations that had been made, including a rejection of the witness.
