Bahrain Mirror: Israeli tourism minister Haim Katz arrived in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, to attend a UN World Tourism Organization conference.
Katz's visit is the first public official visit by a senior Israeli official to the kingdom and comes after Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman spoke of progress in normalizing relations between Tel Aviv and Riyadh.
Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen has said recent statements by US President Joe Biden and the Saudi crown prince on possible normalization "indicate that Israel is very close to signing a historic peace agreement" with Saudi Arabia.
