Bahrain Mirror: The Friday preacher at Imam Al-Sadiq Mosque in Bahrain's Diraz, west of the capital Manama, Sheikh Mohammad Sanqour, urged Bahrainis, as the Month of Ramadan approaches, to "take care of those in need among their relatives and neighbors" and to "be economical in food consumption" and "not to overindulge in food." He called on charitable organizations to "actively seek out less fortunate families in need," also emphasizing the "urgent need to resolve the prisoners' issue." Sheikh Sanqour warned against the Israeli entity's plan to starve and kill the people of the Gaza Strip in order to eliminate their cause and pressure the resistance to submit to its terms.

In his Friday sermon, March 8th, 2024, Sheikh Sanqour reminded charitable organizations of the "necessity to intensify the commendable efforts they make and not to limit what they provide to families to just food, as this does not meet the needs of poor families." He urged the same organizations to "seriously work towards finding out the circumstances of families within their reach."

He stressed the importance of "economizing spending and being moderate in consumption, as cooking more than what is eaten or excessive presentation of food at banquets or overindulgence in food and drinks from iftar until just before dawn may constitute prohibited extravagance."

Sheikh Sanqour reminded the youth not to spend the nights of the blessed month in recreation, entertainment, playing, shopping, visiting restaurants, and cafes, but rather to balance permissible and appropriate recreation with attending Quranic sessions, worship gatherings, and sittings where remembrance of the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them) is practiced, and to strive during this blessed month to increase recitation of the Quran, prayer, and Dua.

He called for "ending the suffering of prisoners' families by releasing their sons and parents and approaching this issue from a humanitarian perspective, as affirmed by the atmosphere of this blessed month during which mercy is showered upon worshipers. By resolving this issue, trust is strengthened, and optimism prevails, which is what nations always need to enjoy more stability."

On another note, Sheikh Sanqour emphasized that "the Zionist enemy has not been satisfied by the immense destruction it has caused to infrastructure, homes, hospitals, and shelter centers in the Gaza Strip, nor by the souls it has taken, exceeding 30,000, plus the wounded, exceeding 70,000, in addition to the displacement of hundreds of thousands who find no refuge from the harshness of cold and deliberate intense bombardment wherever they turn."

He pointed out that "the cruelty of the Zionist enemy is increasing every day, as it intensifies the starvation of Gaza's residents by preventing the entry of urgent humanitarian aid, with more than half a million on the brink of deadly famine, as some experts mention."

He continued, saying: "As for the famine below this level, it is the fate of the people of Gaza in general, and it is astonishing that the entire world is unable to rescue this afflicted people despite acknowledging the magnitude of the calamity they suffer due to the severe oppression and brutality practiced by the Zionist enemy against them."

He warned that "the Zionist enemy aims, through its oppression, displacement, and starvation of Gaza's people, to force them to flee their land to facilitate the elimination of their cause, as well as to pressure the brave resistance to submit to its terms and dictates."

Sheikh Sanqour called on the Zionist enemy and its supporters to "despair of achieving this malicious goal," underlining that "the noble people of Gaza will not abandon their land, even in the face of great adversity, and the brave resistance will continue to inflict defeat after defeat on the treacherous enemy until it retreats humiliated, carrying the stigma of shame and disgrace, and it will remain a mark of disgrace on its forehead forever."
