Bahrain Mirror: Bahraini regime forces fired shotgun pellets and toxic tear gas at angry protestors who staged demonstrations condemning the four-year-term sentence handed down to Bahrain’s opposition leader, Sheikh Ali Salman.

Bahrain Mirror: In a statement it released after the four-year jail sentence handed down to the leader of the main political movement in the Gulf region, Sheikh Ali Salman, Al-Wefaq rejected the ruling, deeming the sentence as “null and lacking any legal grounds or judicial consideration”.

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain’s Public Prosecution said that it is looking into the possibility of appealing against the ruling to drop charge from which the opposition leader Sheikh Ali Salman was acquitted; i.e. “Promoting change of political regime”.

Bahrain Mirror: The European Union stated that the four-year jail sentence handed down to Bahrain’s opposition leader and the Secretary-General of Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society, Sheikh Ali Salman, “runs counter to efforts promoting a lasting and inclusive national reconciliation in Bahrain.”

Reuters: Bahrain said on Thursday it had seized explosives and bomb-making materials planned for use in Bahrain and neighboring Saudi Arabia in what it said was an attempt to use its borders as a base for attacking targets in the region.
