Reuters: Bahrain's foreign minister summoned the Iraqi ambassador to the country on Wednesday to hand him an official letter of protest over a banned Shi'ite group that the kingdom said received training in Iraq.

Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): Bahrain’s Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society issued on Monday (June 8, 2015) its annual report of 2014, entitled: “Reform in Bahrain: Game of Numbers,” referring to the courts in Bahrain that have issued prison sentences over political issues that amount up to 11,000 years.

Bahrain Mirror: Amnesty International said in a message (June 4, 2015) to Al-Wefaq it is greatly concerned with the trial of Sheikh Ali Salman. It reminded of its first statement upon the arrest of Salman in December 2014 where it called for his release because the organization believes the accusations against him lack evidence of his use of or incitement on violence.

Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): OHCHR said it is concerned about two individuals currently in detention in Bahrain, namely Sheikh Ali Al-Salman and Nabeel Rajab and about the harsh treatment of detainees at Jaw Prison, calling for speedy and effective investigations into torture of Bahraini prisoners and immediate release of Sheikh Ali Salman.

Bahrain Mirror: The Commander-in-Chief of the Bahraini army, Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa said that “Operation Decisive Storm” settled the matter of “regional influence, control and dominance,” claiming that the countries in the region “responded to Allah and his prophet to defend the two holy mosques.

Bahrain Mirror: Niccolò Talamanca, Secretary-General of the Rome-based international non-governmental organization “No Peace Without Justice”, called for the release of Sheikh Ali Salman, Secretary-General of Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society, describing the detention as absurd.

Awal Centre for Studies and Documentation will open its doors to visitors, for the first time, on Monday and Tuesday (June 8 and 9, 2015) from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., making available more than 10,000 documents on Bahrain, namely the period of martial law (State of National Safety) from mid-March 2011 until the end of May 2011, marking International Archives Day.
