Parliamentary Suggestion Forcing Merchants to Pay Zakat

Bahrain Mirror: A Bahraini MP presented a suggestion binding merchants pay to the Zakat Fund or provide proof that they distributed it in the eight deserved categories mentioned in the Qur'an.
MP Muhsen Al-Bakri said that Zakat is a very important act in Islamic jurisprudence [Sharia], adding that this proposal urges to impose laws and mechanisms to collect Zakat from merchants; the merchant is obliged to pay to the Zakat Fund or provide proof that he distributed it in the eight deserved categories mentioned in the Qur'an.
